Hello everyone,

We’re excited to be starting back to work! While many things have changed in the last couple months, one thing hasn’t, our office’s commitment to safety. Infection control has always been a top priority in our office. Our infection control processes are designed so that when you receive care, it’s as safe and as comfortable as possible. However, in the wake of COVID, we want you to know about some new infection control procedures that we will be adding to keep our patients and staff even more safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  Each of these groups have suggested changes to dental offices in the wake of COVID, and below are some changes you’ll notice in our office:

  • Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

  • We will ask you to use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. You will also find hand sanitizer available in the reception area and in other places around the office for you to use whenever needed.

  • For now, our waiting room will not have magazines or a coffee maker, since these items are difficult to keep appropriately clean and disinfected.

  • Appointments will be set up to allow for social distancing between yourself and other patients. At the start of things that might mean there are fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

  • We will also be doing our best to allow more time between patients to reduce waiting times for you and to reduce the number of patients in our reception area.

Thank you very much for being our patient, and we’re looking forward to seeing you again,

Dr. Amy Drouin, DMD
